INTRODUCER – PLEASE NOTE: Audience members may not audiotape this seminar.             We have 2 speakers for our meeting today.  I'll introduce Dr. Corcoran and then Suzanne Boswell will start the session.

Dr. Jean Corcoran is a licensed, clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.  She teaches courses at the doctoral level such as Interviewing, Ethics, and Psychopathology.  Prior to her work in psychology, she was a Psychiatric Nurse in New York and Texas.  She has masters degrees in Psychology and Gerontology as well as her Ph.D. in Psychology.  Dr. Corcoran brings to this afternoon’s session the scientific perspective on how to manage challenges and stress. [acknowledge Jean Corcoran who will wave to the audience.]

Suzanne Boswell is a professional speaker and consultant from Raleigh, NC.  Some of you may know her as the dental “Mystery Patient”.  Her focus is on how to develop long-term relationships with loyal patients. Suzanne is author of The Mystery Patient’s Guide to Gaining and Retaining Patients and she is an award-winning columnist.  She speaks at major dental meetings throughout the United States and has also presented in Canada, Spain, Belgium and Puerto Rico.

Jean and Suzanne will address how we can manage some of the challenging times we have with patients ... and sometimes with our team mates [look at audience and smile ...]!  We will investigate why and how some people rattle us and how we can manage those Maalox Moments assertively and confidently.

Now.....it's time to put away the Maalox ... the Rolaids ... the Tums ... and please ... during this session, no swigging Mylanta straight from the bottle.  Suzanne wants you to actively participate and discuss some of the challenges you face daily.  Now please join me in welcoming Suzanne Boswell.......

INTRODUCER: A light approach, your good humor, and a smile during this introduction will help to increase audience interest in the program!   THANK YOU!
