The Power of Positive Self Presentation

OVERVIEW / PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

From the moment you meet another person on the phone, or in person, you send signals about yourself and your organization. Patients and family members decide on treatment and compliance based on how much trust they have in the healthcare team members. Whether you are communicating with physician, administrator, patient, peer, friend or foe, your ability to self-present confidently will influence the actions of others and the outcomes.

This session will investigate the ways to build trust through verbal and nonverbal communication. Emphasis will be placed on communicating confidence and building credibility in interpersonal transactions. You will see "do and don't" slides body and you’ll learn how to apply the concepts to your own situations. This is a fun and high-energy session presented by an undercover "Mystery Patient".
