To the Director &Coordinator :
As a veteran in creating memorable SSC programs (and as a member of the SSC speaker-family), I'll work closely with you to create a special seminar for your members. I want your members to associate with your club the high-content information and creative presentation approach they will experience in my programs. I encourage you to talk with your colleagues. Click here to see SSC Client list

2008 SSC Coordinators Conference
Once again, the SSC team hit a home run in the 2008 Coordinators Conference!  The SSC team is just the best when it comes to planning innovative and meaningful conferences.  The meeting in Seattle concluded on April 26th and I was very pleased to be part of the conference.  On Thursday morning I spoke to the veteran coordinators on the topic of Interdisciplinary Issues.  On Saturday I co-facilitated the closing session wherein we brainstormed on how to take the wealth of new ideas back to each study club.

What I consistently find so exhilarating about the Coordinators Conference is the synergy of the group and their willingness to add Doreen Rosenlicht, Suzanne Boswell, Cherron Oakleyress challenges and find solutions together. This is the 4th time I've spoken at the Conference and I'm ever amazed at the creativity that comes out of the group. The mental energy of this group is a perfect example of "the whole is equal to more than the sum of its parts";  Together, the coordinators generate creative ideas and manage problem-solving with great energy and progressive thinking.

On a personal note, this meeting feels like a reunion to me.    I really enjoy visiting with the coordinators I've worked with in the past and whom I think of as friends. I have the pleasure of meeting new faces and coordinators I've not yet worked with.  And at the close of the meeting we all go away with our batteries recharged and ready to take on challenges with renewed spirit!

NEW WORKSHOP FOR DOCTORS AND TREATMENT COORDINATORS:
"INVESTIGATING INTERDISCIPLINARY ISSUES"

This program developed as a result of doctors asking for more information on case presentation to patients.  Research started in 2007 and entailed extensive interviews with interdisciplinary gurus, surveys of general dentists and specialists and exhaustive review of papers on this subject.  A terrific workshop was developed as a result.  The first part of the workshop entails outcomes of findings, what doctors are doing effectively in relation to case presentation, how patients feel about the concept and what the concept means to the study club.

Club members then break into sub-groups to apply the concept to their own practices and to address effective interdisciplinary treatment and communication as it relates to the club. This is a highly dynamic workshop that can have significant impact for club members and for patients.  Ideally the session is scheduled for a 4-hour time block.  This program has been created specifically for doctors and for treatment coordinators.  It is not suitable for all team members.

This program may be scheduled by itself as a morning session.  Alternatively it may be scheduled for an afternoon time slot and combined with an all-team session in the morning.  Only the doctors and treatment coordinators would remain for the afternoon session. Please call us to learn more about how this topic can be presented to strengthen relationships within your club and to develop more effective methods of case presentation and treatment planning.

POWERFUL TEAM WORKSHOP
Our most powerful team program, Managing (and Overcoming) 5 Dysfunctions of Teams, is perfect for a full-day all-team meeting or for a private practice team retreat (1 or 2-day).  This program is based on the ground-breaking NY Times bestseller, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni.  This workshop and retreat will challenge teams to function at optimum levels.  It will make a difference for ALL teams and will help them function at higher levels.  It is vital for teams that are burned out, experience unresolved team conflict or are not functioning at optimum level.  To learn more click here.

ALL-TEAM SESSIONS - TEAM APPRECIATION MEETINGS:

  • The Cohesive Team: Managing and Overcoming Five Team Dysfunctions
  • Developing the Dream Team:  Understanding and Using Behavioral Styles in the Dental Practice
  • Managing Maalox Moments ... Assertively and Confidently   Unmasking Your Mystery Patients:
  • How to Gain and Retain Patients in Challenging Times

FOR THE DIRECTOR -  A SPECIAL OFFER:    Have a meeting for your own practice the day before the study club meeting when Suzanne will speak. We'll arrange a private team meeting at your office on the topic of your choice.  This offers a considerable savings when scheduled with the study club meeting.  You may opt for an in-office team workshop OR a "Mystery Patient" visit to your own office!  This offer is made to SSC groups at a special rate.  Click here to learn more.

FOR ALL SSC MEMBERS
"SHOULD I BRING MY TEAM TO YOUR PRESENTATION?"     I understand the issues that affect whether a doctor brings his/her staff to a full day seminar. I do encourage doctors to bring the entire team
(I realize it's a significant investment!).  Yet at the end of many programs,  I hear doctors say they regret not having their team there.  So if you are in doubt ...
I promise you:
  • Your team will be energized about implementing new, practical  ideas
  • Your team will learn interpersonal skills they can use immediately
  • Your team WON'T BE BORED! (I'm a firm believer that CE must be presented in a fun manner.)
  • I will work hard to ensure that it will be worth the time, effort, energy and cost you invest in your team, your practice and your patients.

WHAT KIND OF SPEAKER IS SUZANNE?
This can best be summed up in my philosophy as a presenter and workshop leader. I believe:
  • Participants must be challenged to think differently and to look at challenges from new perspectives.
  • The presentation should use a variety of tools to stimulate different forms of thinking: Handouts, image projection (slides), role plays, props, small group interaction.  People learn differently … variety keeps the audience refreshed and encourages creative thinking.
  • Participants must feel comfortable with the speaker in order to welcome information presented.
  • Participants must be encouraged to ask questions to get involved in the session.
  • The program must be interactive and participants must have the opportunity to process new information with their team mates.
  • The presentation must be fun!  Humor helps to keep the audience engaged.  Humor also acts as a catalyst helping audience to process information in a creative manner.
